Collection Scope

• HAAA includes online audio recordings in English with consent forms and transcripts of interviews with Asian Americans native to Houston, created by the staff and interns and community connections of the Chao Center for Asian Studies at Rice.  In some cases, additional materials such as photographs of the interviewee, resume or cv, are also included. Not all interviews include a transcript. Totals 138 items, dating from 1980 and 2010-2014.  All items listed on the finding aid at http://www.lib.utexas.edu/taro/ricewrc/00669/rice-00669.html 

• video recordings in Vietnamese (mostly) with consent forms but no transcripts, created by the Vietnamese American Historical Foundation, 2011-2012. Items are listed in the HAAA finding aid as they are added online in the IR (88 online interviews, June 2013), and all the VAHF interviews are online at https://scholarship.rice.edu/handle/1911/79694
