How to stitch photos together in Photoshop

  1. From top menu, choose:

File>Automate> Photomerge

  1. Click the drop-down menu in the center of the pop-up screen and choose Files (to select individual images) or Folders (to choose an entire folder)

  1. Click the Browse button to navigate to the files or folder that you want to merge:

  1. Check the following boxes on the pop-up screen:

          Blend Images Together

Vignette Removal(corrects any natural lens darkening at the edges)

Geometric Distortion Correction(to repair lens distortion)

  1. Select a layout option to merge the photos; start with Auto. The other methods are specialized (to be documented).

  1. Click OK to begin the photomerge process. Photoshop will open all of the images and assemble them. This may take a few minutes.

  2. After merging the image Photoshop will show you the new file.

  1. Select all of the layers in the Layers panel (shift and click if they are not already highlighted)

  1. Choose Layer>Smart Objects>Convert to Smart Objects to create a merged copy.

  1. Save as a tiff. In the pop-up box be sure to select “Discard Layers and Save a Copy” to limit the size of the image.
