Image will appear “straighten out”. Crop as needed. [white or null space may appear around adjusted image. Tip: have sufficient border space in original scan to allow for this adjustment]
Batch auto crop and straighten
- File>automate>crop and straighten Photos - best used when wish to split multiple images from single file
- PS Script - best used when have large number of image files that you wish to remove background and straighten. Good to use when images are not a standard size or location on canvas.

Select what you want to transform, using the rectangular marquee tool

Choose Edit > Transform > Rotate
- Handles will appear (ie. corners of your selection will become circles). go just outside of the object until you see a curved arrow rotate icon. click to rotate. At this point, simply drag left or right to rotate the selected object. You can also move the object in place by clicking in the middle of the object, or with the directional keyboard arrows
- Must finish applying the transformation by pressing Enter.

ImageMagick (IM)
example command: convert +append img1.gif img2.gif img3.gif combined.gif
- use -append (top down) or +append (left to right). -append stacks images, edge to edge, from top to bottom. making one tall image.
- IM commands are case sensitive

TIP: output filename list to .bat file (DIR /b>out.bat). Open .bat file in NotePad and remove line breaks, add "convert" to beginning and add name for new merged image at end. Run *.bat file.
Note!: Windows 10 upgrade requires "magick convert" instead of just "convert" (source)

Part III: Run batch from Bridge

This will launch Photoshop and open the Batch feature

In the Batch window, use same settings as above, except for Source

Under Source section, select "Bridge" option (this assumes the folder containing files you wish to modify is already open in Bridge).
